The Executive Committee

The role of the Executive Committee is to provide support to the Scout Group including the overall management of facilities and budgets.  The Executive Committee is a committee of the Group Council, and is made up from volunteers, mainly parents. The key roles are:

  • Chair-person – responsible for running the Committee. The Chair-person is nominated by the Group Scout Leader
  • Treasurer – ensuring the stability of the finances and governance of the Group.
  • Secretary – critical to maintain record of decisions and policies for the Group.

The Executive Committee is always looking for new volunteers either to become full members of the committee or offer support on an ad hoc basis, such as on our maintenance weekends. The Executive Committee formally meets six times a year. If you would like to become involved with the Committee ask one of the Leaders or turn up for the next AGM. It is important that we have parent representatives on the Committee to ensure we remain in touch with what is important in running the Group.
